Why?

Buildings in the European Union are responsible for approximately 40 % of the total energy consumption. This makes them the single largest energy consumer in the EU. Additionally, buildings account for about 36 % of greenhouse gas emissions. To address rising energy costs and meet climate goals, property owners aim at hurriedly optimize the energy consumption of their property portfolio. This urgency is driving the building sector’s demand for sustainable and efficient energy solutions.

The addressable market is huge. In the European Union and the UK there are 50 million multifamily residential buildings and 12 million non-residential buildings. Out of these 62 million buildings, only 10 % have taken measures to meet climate change targets. And less than one percent has implemented intelligent energy efficiency solutions.

Why?

Existing energy optimisation offerings currently suffer from fragmentation in siloed services that don’t expand beyond local markets or individual systems. Today’s Egosystem consists of proprietary offerings that don’t interact with each other.

It’s complex, costly and simply doesn’t scale.

Crossbreed do things radically differently. We remove complexity by turning the Egosystem into an Ecosystem, offering scalable solutions and new business models.

Based on our platform Crossbreed Energy OS we provide building data as a service and white-labelled energy optimisation services distributed by market-leading suppliers of Proptech.

The data indicates a significant opportunity exists for energy efficiency implementations to both residential and non-residential buildings throughout the Europe, and beyond.

We’re on to it.
